About Frank Pérez

Frank Pérez, DBA, is a philatelist, art collector, and international judge with more than 30 years of experience in collecting, competitive exhibiting, and inherited collections.

A collector, judge, and guide for heirs

Over the course of his career, he has served as a juror at national and international exhibitions, evaluating specialized material ranging from traditional philately to complex postal history. In this project, he writes in an educational and informational capacity to help heirs better understand inherited collections and the options available to them.

Philatelic experience

Frank Pérez is the editor of Timbre, a specialized magazine dedicated to the study of Costa Rican postal history. His long experience in philately informs the practical and analytical approach behind The Stamp Heir’s Guide.

A broader perspective on inherited assets

A professional background in innovation, entrepreneurship, and venture finance complements his perspective as a long-time collector. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from SDA Bocconi, which informs his analytical approach to collectibles and inherited assets. In this book, he applies that perspective to inherited stamps, treating them not only as sentimental property but also as assets that may call for careful evaluation and a considered disposition strategy.

The Heir´s Guide Series

Beyond stamps, he is also an active collector of contemporary Latin American art and sculpture. That broader perspective led him to create the Heir’s Guide Series, a collection of practical guides designed to help non-specialists approach inherited assets with greater clarity and care.
