About the Heir’s Guide Series

The Heir’s Guide Series was created to help people make better decisions about inherited collections and specialized assets.

Many heirs are asked to make choices before they fully understand what they have. That can lead to unnecessary stress, preventable mistakes, unrealistic expectations, or rushed decisions. The purpose of this series is to provide a calm, practical starting point.

What the series is designed to do

Each guide is written for non-specialists who suddenly become responsible for material they did not choose to collect. The goal is not to turn readers into experts overnight. The goal is to help them understand what they may have inherited, avoid common mistakes, and make better-informed decisions about what to keep, review, document, or sell.

How the series works

Each Heir’s Guide title focuses on a specific category and is supported by companion resources on this website. Depending on the guide, those resources may include downloadable checklists, worksheets, glossaries, photo guides, contact scripts, and documentation tools.

Current title

The first live title in the series is Treasure or Trash? The Stamp Heir’s Guide, a practical guide for heirs, family members, executors, and non-collectors dealing with inherited stamp collections.

Looking ahead

The next title in the Heir’s Guide Series is already in development and will focus on inherited coin collections. It will extend the same practical approach to heirs and families dealing with numismatic material.
